When she’s not on the party scene or hitting the hottest events, Adrienne Bailon is dishing up the gossip with a side of spicy personality on the new talkshow, The Real. The youngster of the group of women, including Tamar Braxton, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love and Jeannie Mai, is the firecracker at the table talking about everything from beauty secrets to celebrity crushes and even taking on weightier topics like fertility and blended families.
And for the 29-year-old, those two topics are especially important. She’s currently dating a mystery man who already has children so she’s adjusting to and enjoying life as a sort of stepmom, but of course as the big 3-0 approaches, she’s getting more and more questions about having babies of her own.
CocoaFab caught up with the new co-host to talk about it all, and she even weighs in on what’s hot and what’s not. Hint: Adrienne is obsessed with taking care of her vajayjay! Check out our interview below!
Tell us about the show.
Adrienne Bailon: “I’m so excited for this show because this is the first time that people will see me and my real personality. It’s not a polished talk show, we’re not news anchors, we’re not CNN, because I love that the topics we’re tailing about will have a girls spin to them and will have our unique opinions woven in. It’s like we’re all hanging out in the kitchen talking with a glass of wine. We’re relatable, you understand it, and that’ what I love.”
What do you bring to the table with all of these really outgoing and opinionated women?
Adrienne Bailon:“What I bring to the table, I’m really honored to be the first Latina on daytime television which is awesome. I’m really proud that there will be a Latina-American on television to represent our people on an English channel.”
How will your perspective be different?
Adrienne Bailon:“I’m the youngest of the crew. I’m single, I don’t have any kids, I’ve never been engaged, and I think that we’re all at different places in our lives and we’re all just trying to figure it out but I think there are a lot of women who will be tuning in and can related to the fact that I’m turning 30 this year and I haven’t quite got it all together yet. For me, that’s scary and I think people can relate to that. People are telling me to start freezing my eggs and it sounds crazy to me but biologically when you turn 30 you’re thinking about should you get pregnant and not being married and is the clock ticking. All of those kinds of questions that we’ll discuss on the show. Along with that is I like to think of myself as the social butterfly of the group. I’m on the scene a lot and I go out to parties and events a lot. So you’ll get to hear about whats going and what’s hot. I’ll bring a bit of the gossip as well.”
As a 30-someting, what’s happening on the dating scene? Are you dating?
Adrienne Bailon: “Now [turning] 30, almost every man that I date is older than that and has children. I don’t have kids. I’m currently in a relationship with a man who has kids and that makes things interesting. And blended families are something I want to talk about on the show. For those of us who wait a bit longer to settle down, others have already started and so there’s that interesting balance and additional challenge. So I want to talk about that on the show. Other things I want to discuss on the show are sex, love, how to make love last, what happens after kids. All of that interests me. I thicken I saw my mom become more of a mom and less of a wife, and that was scary to me as well. I don’t want to have to dumb down for anyone. I don’t want to not be fly or fabulous later in life because I’m a wife and mom. Those are things I’m scared of and things that other people can relate to as well.”
What are your biggest beauty secrets to staying hot?
Adrienne Bailon: “Vajacials are one of my biggest secrets. Kegel exercises are big. I will hit my girl on group chat and say ‘Did you do your Kegels today?’ Get it right, get it tight. It’s real! I’m real real with my girlfriends. We all try to keep each other on point. I think a man loves nothing more than a fun and happy woman. The prettiest girls are the happiest girls. So I’m that girl. You will find me on Instagram liking every mushy, girly quote there is.”
What’s hot for the summer?
Adrienne Bailon: “What I think is hot right now is body chains for the summer. This line Rich Girls makes them and I love them. we’re going to do a bikini segment on the show so I’m definitely going to wear a body chain. I think they’re so cute.”
What’s not so hot? Any no-no’s for the summer?
Adrienne Bailon: “What’s not hot is that I just left a spinning class and no one tells you how painful those bikes are on your vagina. Like I was assaulted by my bike. It hurts so bad. I feel like someone just beat me up. I’m sure I’m bruising. It was painful, so I’m not into spinning.”
