AMERICAN IDOL: Prince Covers Billboard Magazine (Plus New Music!)

Prince on the cover of Billboard Magazine

In a rare and very exclusive interview, Prince sat down with Billboard Magazine for his first major cover story in years! The artist that all other musicians aspire to be like allowed one reporter to shadow him over the course of a couple days without taking notes or recording the interview, a move that can only be described a true to Prince’s private and cryptic character.

This May, Prince will be Billboard’s 2013 Icon honoree at the Billboard Music Awards and this cover story allows fans an exclusive look into the mind of a man who has spent three decades making amazing music and fighting to own every last note and chord.

Prince, in all his princely glory, is hailed as an ‘American Idol ‘on the cover and in the accompanying feature, we learn a little more about the amazing year ahead the singer has planned for us. As a part of that, Prince launched an official website yesterday, 20pr1nc3.com, that features NEW music, including a new song titled “Screw Driver.”

For the past few weeks, Prince has strategically been releasing new information and music by way of social media, a new thing for him, and this new website seems to be the central zone where fans can get their Purple Rain fix. Prince is back and we can’t wait for him to reveal what he’s going to blow us away with next!

Check out the lyric video for his new song “Screw Driver” below.
