Angela Bassett is making her directorial debut in a big way.
The actress has announced she’s directing the film, Whitney Houston, for Lifetime.
“I have such regard for both Whitney’s and Bobby’s amazing talents and accomplishments, and I feel a responsibility in the telling of their story. Their humanity and bond fascinates us all,” she said.
“I’m beyond excited to have this opportunity to go behind the camera and into their world.”
The film will be released in 2015 and will chronicle the relationship between Whitney and Bobby Brown.
The late singer‘s Waiting To Exhale co-star and friend also took to Twitter to share the good news.
“Hey Everybody, u good? Deep in #Whitney pre-prod.w/ @lifetimetv! Striving above all else to tell their story w/LOVE!,” she posted.
