According to the New York Daily News, a 34-year-old Maryland woman, Kelly Mayhew drove down to Queens, New York with her mother on Saturday for a silicone injected procedure in hopes to enlarge her buttocks.
The procedure was performed in a basement apartment. After the silicone was injected, Mayhew struggled to breathe and instead of helping her patient, the “phony plastic surgeon” grabbed her keys, fled from the house and jumped into her SUV.
Mayhew’s mother began to peform CPR and called 911 herself after the woman who administered the injections left the scene. According to  New York Daily News, Kelly passed away at the hospital.
Police are currently searching for the unidentified woman who performed the injections.
Kelly’s sister, Cece, wrote on Facebook, “Too soon only 34 years old, mah heart can’t believe it.” Kelly reportedly worked as a freelancer for BET Networks and the spokesperson, Jamie Owens, said in a statement, “Our heart goes out to her family and we extend our deepest sympathies for their loss.â€
