‘Braxton Family Values’ Recap: Baby Bump Blues: “It Hurts All The Time!”

braxton-family-values-tamar

Braxton Family Values is all about Tamar’s painful pregnancy and Evelyn’s new dating ventures.  We also see the sisters commit to their store and pledge to make it a priority.

Trina cuts Gabe out of the business and opts to keep it between the sisters only. He’s disappointed that he’s done so much legwork for noting, and feels Trina is choosing her sisters over him again.

Tamar wants her mother to start dating again, and Evelyn agrees she’s ready to meet new people. The first guy she meets is a total snooze fest.  Evelyn calls it quits before her diet coke arrives.  She’s not one to mince words.  “I’m about ready to go.” And she does.

She has better luck on her next date with a handsome man who makes her feel “warm.” The two flirt over drinks and make plans for a second date after assuring each other there won’t be any funny business.  “You won’t be hittin’ it,” she says.

Towanda, Traci and Trina drag Tamar to a yoga class to help her relax.  Of course, she’s talking the entire way through it and eventually annoys the saucy instructor. She feels too fat to do any of the poses and say they remind her of what got her in trouble in the first place.

Tamar is miserable in every sense of the word.  She’s tired, hungry and swollen and she’s looking for some sympathy. She wants her sisters to plan a great shower for her but they aren’t too eager.

During a pedicure with her mother, Tamar says she’s “tired as hell” just sitting in the chair. She’s confirming all of my single girl pregnancy fears by revealing the truth behind her bump.  “Nobody tells you it hurts all the time,” she says. “It’s tough.” She doesn’t want to complain but she’s moody and uncomfortable.  Thank goodness her mommy is there to help her through it.

When Evelyn tells her girls about her dates, they are instantly intrigued. They can tell she has feelings for the guy but doesn’t want to admit it yet.  She has plans to meet Daryll after their ladies’ lunch and she advises her daughters to stay out of her business. She gets angry at the mention of him getting grilled by the girls. Next week, Toni has big news to share that seems to send Tamar over the edge.
