Jennifer Hudson has a hot new album to match her new haircut and she’s dishing details on her style secrets.
The singer/actress has maintained her 80-pound weight loss for years and told Yahoo Style how she managed to keep the extra pounds from creeping back.
â€œI throw the pancakes across the room! I donâ€™t let the food intimidate me. If itâ€™s too much, I just get rid of it, but I make sure to watch what I put in my body. And I make sure I know what it is.â€ she said.
â€œItâ€™s all about portions for the most part. I just take care of myself in that way, being more conscious. I donâ€™t work out a lot, but I do like to be active. Simple as that.â€
Despite her self-discipline, she still indulges in her favorite food–chocolate.
â€œI always have to have chocolate around â€” itâ€™s my cigarette. I donâ€™t smoke but it calms me so well. I donâ€™t like too much junk in my dressing room because I have to watch what I eat, so I put everything else out of the room.â€
She also opened up about her decision to chop off her locks and sport a bold pixie-cut.
â€œIâ€™m random so I just had a random thought. I say that because normally when a woman decides to cut her hair, it takes a long time to make that decision â€” you ponder on it, you ask people â€˜What do you think, how do you feel, should I cut it?â€™ and youâ€™re always a little wary. Not for me,â€ she said.
â€œIn that instant, in that thought, I was like â€˜Okay. I want to cut my hair. Letâ€™s do it.â€™ I was on a flight and then like the next day or so I was like, â€˜Fly the hairdresser in. I want to chop it all off.’â€
If she had it her way, J-Hud would have cut her hair even shorter than it is.
â€œI wanted to go to the extreme. I actually, originally, wanted it much shorter,â€ she admitted.
“Then my hairdresser was like â€˜Thatâ€™s a bit drastic, Jennifer.â€™ I feel as though when you wear short hair itâ€™s more about your presence.â€
