Hello, Hater! Why Is Keyshia Cole Attacking Beyoncé?

big jam 191112

I count myself as one of the early fans of Keyshia Cole. When she hit the scene, women just didn’t sing with that gritty, raw emotion like she did. She was like Mary J during “What’s the 411?” She had a beautiful emotional side, mixed with a hood mentality, something that so many women could relate to. Even when I watched her on her reality show with her mother and sister, I empathized with her up-bringing, understood her struggle and even appreciated the growth that she tried to make personally.

But recently, I’ve been asking myself, “what happened to Keyshia Cole?” It seems as though she has set aside the singing and songwriting, trading it for snarky Twitter remarks and hateration. And I don’t want to say that, but am I alone in my observation? Every week it seems like she’s on the blogs because of something she’s said or Tweeted about another female singer or star. And this week seems to be no different.

Upon the release of Beyonce’s new single “Bow Down/ I Been On”, Keyshia took to Twitter today to weigh in on Bey. Tweeting the following:Screen shot 2013-03-18 at 11.46.53 AM

After Beyonce’s stans, aka the Bey Hive, went after Keyshia for her comments about Michelle Williams, I thought that she’d either apologize or just stay mum. But it seems like Keyshia really has some feelings and wants to air them. Now, everyone is entitled to their opinions, however this just seems a bit too harsh.

While I doubt that Baddie Bey will respond publicly, I wonder what the behind the scenes conversations will be like. Perhaps a few text messages? Or a phone call? Or just a side-eye at the next event?

TELL US: What do you think of Keyshia Cole’s recent Twitter rant? Does this make you change your opinion of her?
