Aside from readying his upcoming album Love In The Future, Grammy-winning recording artist, John Legend has sold the rights of a Miami-based drama entitled Down Lo to HBO.
Deadline.com reports that HBO beat out other interested parties for the series. The show is set to take place on South Beach and focus on the party town’s popular sports, fashion and music scenes. It allegedly will feature a gay rapper trying to make it in hip-hop, as well as models, and athletes trying to break through.
Down Lo is being written by playwright/scribe Seth Zvi Rosenfeld and directed/produced by Tony Krantz. Legend‘s Get Lifted Film Co. has already sold the rights to two separate shows — a drama entitled The Edge to USA Network, and 20th Century Fox TV bought an untitled comedy loosely based on Legend’s upbringing.
