Karen Clark Sheard weighed in on the surge of religious reality shows in an interview with Sister2Sister and it seems she thinks it’s a good thing for the public.
“They see us onstage or in church and it’s good that they see what we go through, what builds up to that,” she said. “They need to know what goes on behind the closed doors and we don’t mind telling them so they know that we’re human.”
Karen’s show, The Sheards, is gearing up for a second season on BET and she’s not worried about the backlash.
“The criticism helps me better myself, so I take it as stepping stones,” she said.
“They don’t know what God takes us through sometimes for us to bring out that anointing and to minister to them.”
