WATCH: Mona Scott-Young RESPONDS To ‘LHH’ Lawsuit: ‘You Can’t Create a Reality Show!’

Mona Scott-Young is speaking out about the $50 million lawsuit against her, but the Love & Hip Hop producer isn’t too clear on the details, herself!

“I read about it on the blogs just like everyone else did,” she told Sway Calloway.  “I haven’t been served anything…The only people they’ve served are TMZ and Bossip.”

Although she hasn’t received any paperwork yet, she doesn’t doubt it’s on the way.

“I have to assume there’s some basis to it because these are all very legal looking documents,” she said.

Still, she doesn’t necessarily deny the basis of the copyright infringement claims that accuse her of stealing the idea for the hit reality show.

“So many times there are parallel shows being developed within a network,” she said. “May the best cast prevail.”

Mona made sure to point out that reality television can’t really be “created.”

“It’s a reality show. I didn’t create these people because I didn’t give birth to them. All I did was shine a camera on a segment of the population that I knew well,” she explained.

“You can’t create a reality show. It’s reality.”

So far, Mona seems confident that she will be holding on to her hard-earned coin.

“The truth will prevail,” she said.

“I just want everyone to use a little common sense when processing the information.”
