Paris Jackson is in the hospital.
The 15-year-old daughter of Debbie Rowe and Michael Jackson was rushed to an LA hospital from her home in Calabasas, Calif. early Wednesday morning. Sources say she suffered from a possible suicide attempt. The LA County Fire Department has confirmed their response to a 911 call “regarding a possible overdose.”
According to her mother, Debbie Rowe, the teen was “rushed to the hospital with cuts on her wrist” and had “a lot going on,” but is expected to fully recover, reports TMZ.
According to new reports, Paris cut her wrists with a kitchen knife and took as many as 20 ibuprofen tablets. An attorney for Katherine Jackson released a statement saying Paris is “physically fine” and receiving “appropriate attention.”
“Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you,” says Sandra Ribera.
Now, a source says the teen has been battling depression since she lost her father in 2009.”Paris has been very, very depressed for a while. She’s been throwing fits and tantrums, kicking and screaming and cutting herself,” says the source.
Another family friend says the teen is aching for a family, and has been spending time with her mother to fill a void.
“Paris is very unhappy and alone. She’s living in this place and there’s security and uncles and all these hangers-on. And she’s alone,” a source told PEOPLE. “That’s one of the reasons she reached out to Debbie Rowe – she wants a family, she’s missed her dad.”
The troubled teen actress took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to tweet some cryptic lyrics from the classic Beatles song, “Yesterday.”
“Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they’re here to stay,” she wrote.
