This might just be the longest courtship of all time!
After 27 years of dating, Tina Turner and her longtime beau Erwin Bach finally jumped the broom!
Fierce and fabulous at 73, Tina tied the knot with the German producer in a civil ceremony in Switzerland, reports Reuters.
The pair have been together for almost three decades. They plan to have a Buddhist celebration at their home on the banks of Lake Zurich on Sunday, according to the report.
This will be a second marriage for the “Proud Mary” singer, who was wed to to the notorious Ike Turner from 1962 until her divorce filing in 1976. The singing icon revealed his spousal abuse in her 1986 memoir, I, Tina. (Ike died in 2008 of a cocaine overdose.)
For now, there’s no word on why these two decided to get hitchedafter being together so long. In 2000, they both downplayed wedding rumors in an interview. “We are married – we just haven’t walked down the aisle, and until there’s a need to, we probably won’t,” Turner said at the time.
“We don’t need a marriage to be together,” Bach added. “Some people need that security thing, but I think if you’re internally happy with your partner, you don’t need symbols.”
So what’s love got to do with it? Looks like love has got everything to do with it!
