Beyonce and the Kardashians have something in common, they know how to spin the media! A day after the Bey-Hive dragged their leader on social media for an underwhelming announcement about her vegan diet, Good Morning America has another Beyonce â€œexclusiveâ€.
New video footage from the singers recent trip to Haiti has just been released. She spent time in the country assessing itâ€™s progress five years after the catastrophic earthquake.
Her tour included a stop at the countries only children’s hospital, St. Damien Pediatric Hospital, which provides intensive care for babies and cancer patients.
â€œ[Beyonce] brings attention to our facility. Itâ€™s good for us because all of what weâ€™re doing is free to the families. Therefore, we need to raise moneyâ€ said hospital official Dr. Jacqueline Gautier.
Gautier adds that the hospital only charges admitted patients a nominal fee which makes up less than 10% of their budget. The hospital operates from private donations.
According to ABC News, only 40% of Haitiâ€™s population is employed, with thousands of natives being homeless or some form of temporary housing. The country is still in destitute conditions which includes a lack of clean drinking. Thus, theres a rapid epidemic of cholera throughout the country.
â€œ…Weâ€™ve seen about two thousand cases of cholera this year, so far. But in a typical year, we would see about ten.â€ said St. Damien official Father Rick Frechette.
