Viola Davis, Mo’Nique, Anthony Anderson, & More Black Celebs Receive Critics Choice Nods

While the Oscars fell flat for failing to recognize and honor black actors and actresses for their film work, the Critics Choice Awards gave nods to a number of black celebs.

Topping the list of nominees is David Oyelowo, Taraji P. Henson,Tituss Burgess , Lorraine Toussaint, Queen Latifah, Khandi Alexander, Cicely Tyson, Mo’Nique, Aunjanue Ellis, and Anthony Anderson  Viola Davis.

This might just be Mo’Nique’s comeback year after controversy over being difficult to work with and blackballed in Hollywood with Empire creator Lee Daniels. (Empire also landed a nomination for Best Drama Series.)
