Remember those Jaden Smith wants to be emancipated from Will and Jada Smith rumors that almost blew up the internet last week?

All jokes.

“See, here’s the thing. I’m not going anywhere. The thing that people don’t get is everything at this house is free,” the 14-year-old explained on Wednesday’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show in the wake of a false report by The Sun. “I can get anything and everything at his house, so I’m going to be there for 20, 30 years. He says as soon as I have a movie that’s bigger than one of his movies, I can get my own house.”

So how did the report even start in the first place?

“I think I made a joke in Tokyo,” Will said, before joking: “I mean, my baby boy, he’s never leaving me, ever. No emancipation for the Smith kids.”

The father and son duo will appear on the big screen together in sci-fi thriller, After Earth, which hits theaters on May 31.
